Charlie Don't Surf - Live
w/ Lost Issues, & more

Thursday August 30 2007

Tonight Inferno and WORT 89.9FM present CHARLIE DON'T SURF - LIVE. The music begins promptly when the bar opens at 9PM with an hour long DJ mix from JAKE SHUT, host of long running WORT radio show Charlie Donít Surf, featuring his trademark uptempo and underground mix of punk, indie rock, garage, metal, hardcore, stoner, hip hop, Americana, no wave and various obscure blasts from the past. The DJing is interrupted throughout the night for LIVE PERFORMANCES from three regional acts, handpicked by Jake Shut, who play their sets after 10PM. Tonight features: LOST ISSUES Lost Issues began in the winter of 2006 with its feet planted firmly in the fertile soil of hardcore punk. Mike and Jake played together in the defunct Defacto Oppression and Yesmaster. Mike is still playing bass in Weaving the Deathbag and Matt plays guitar in Murder of Crows. GARRISON KILLER WILHELMINA BAKER Wilhelmina Baker is a solo project of Nicole Gruter wherein she sings arias through effects pedals, bare my heart through a megaphone, pop out of a box to chastise the Iraq War, turn from muslims to redneck with the help of Brooks and Dunn, and hand out tasty morsels that corresponde to the songs at hand. Every show if different, multi-sensory (mmm..yummy), sometimes political, sometimes silly. Doors at 9PM, 21+ ID required. SMOKING is ALLOWED at Inferno! $1.50 SELECT PINTS and $1.50 RAIL MIXERS from 9-10PM.
